    Here we go again

Well I sold my old Tracker and bought a 2016 Tracker 190 with the regular 115. The engine is mounted flat on the transom and has a 23 pitch Black Max prop which is definitely not the prop it needs. I am looking for suggestions for the engine height and prop that would be best for my new rig.

Thanks alot. That will make my pad to prop about 5 1/4 to 5 1/2. Any water pressure problems at that height?

Shouldn't be any water pressure issues. This is my exact setup on my 2017 Pt190 with 115Pro XS. You won't believe the difference in performance and handling.

I have no problem with water pressure with that set up. 25+ PSI at 6000 RPM, about 15-20 PSI at 4000 RPM IIRC.

Congrats on the new rig! Thats definitely the wrong prop 19p 4 blade or if you want to try a 3 blade a 21p laser would probly do well on there also. Im partial to the 3 blade myself.

If I choose to run the Laser 2 where should the engine height be?

I would go this route. My 75 (flashed) is in the 3rd hold and I run a 17P X7 to a max of 5700.

Thank you all for your replies. I tried a Laser 2 in 20 pitch and the holeshot was 4.4 seconds by vessel view. The water was a little choppy but I managed to get it up to 5800 rpm and 49.9 mph again by vessel view. That is not bad performance but that thing was like riding a Harley on ice. The handling was terrible, is that because the engine is mounted so low? I have a 21p X7 that I picked up at a good price. Should I raise the motor and try the 21 or raise the motor and get a new 19p?

Since you already have the 21 raise the motor and try it. That will tell you what you need to know if you need to go down in pitch or not. Just make sure you have the boat loaded like you are going to fish out of it on a regular basis and with fishing partner to get the results you need.

Yes to much lower uint in the water. Trust us on the third hole. Performance will be a whole lot better. Whole shot will be better. Handling in the turns will be much better.

It’s the right mounting position if no JP. And the X7. Is really hard to beat out of the box. No torque steering, think of it as 4x4 for your boat.

3 blades like to run deeper with the 3 blade I would go second hole. I have a 3 blade 19p and can't trim up a lot and Im in second hole. I think at 3 hole you not going to be able to trim much at all. the spitfire X7 4 blade 19p is the best to go with. it will be my next prop, there are a ton of threads on this and the 4 blade in the 3 hole is the best you will get. the boat will handle like a dream also.

I got the engine raised to the third hole this morning. My wife has surgery in the morning so it will be Wednesday morning before I can try it out with my 21p X7. I really hope it runs around 5800 or 6000. I will post the results.

The 115 Pro XS revs to 6300 rpm, my engine revs to 6000 I was hoping the 21p would keep my rpm down where it needs to be. I have spoken to Mark and he can repitch my prop to a 20p if thats what I need to do.

If your getting 6000 with the 21p I would stay with that, if you want a little less RPMs have the prop cupped if you go to a 20p your RPMs are going up.

You all were right. I ordered the 19p today. The 21p topped out at 5700 rpm. I have a very nice X7 21p for sale listed in the props for sale forum. Thank everybody for their responses.
