    SI transducer

Getting ready to mount my Helix 10 Mega DI SI transducer and want to get it right. Exactly how much lower does it need to be below my high speed transducer to not interfere with side imaging.
    Thanks.

If you must have both on the transom, put them on opposite sides of the outboard. That will take care of any SI blockage.

Did you mean 2D instead of DI?

No just what I said,do not have mega units,I like true DI not what you get for Di with a Gen 1 Si unit,I switch back and forth.Works good for me the way I fish.

I have a gen 1,9si. What exactly do you mean when you say true down imaging? Does this have something to do with combined di /si transducer?

Your first generation Helix 9 SI does not have Down Imaging. No number series SI unit before the first generation Helix has true DI either.
It has composite DI views created by blending the two SI pulses.
Your SI transducer has a left and right SI piezo, a 2D piezo, and a temp sensor.

A Helix 7 MEGA SI unit has the composite DI views also.

A Helix 8, 9, 10, and 12 MEGA SI unit has true DI created from a Down Imaging piezo in the SI transducer.
Left and right SI piezo, DI piezo, 2D piezo, and temp sensor.
The ONIX and SOLIX have true DI also.

Composite DI from SI = no dedicated DI piezo ...

    -----

True DI = dedicated DI piezo ...

(See Wayne's description in post #8 above) ...

I have Gen1 Helix 10s. I have a Helix 10 SI transducer on my transom. I never knew I didn't have "true" DI and only composite.

I've never been overly impressed with my DI. I always gravitate toward 2d. Maybe that is why.

I have my Helix 10 SI transducer inside a transducer saver that is attached to my jackplate. How many different Gen1 helix 10 SI transducers are there?

    XHS 9 HDSI 180 T=transom model
    XTM 9 HDSI 180 T=trolling motor model
    XPTH 9 HDSI 180 T=thru-hull model

Same ones for the Helix 12 CHIRP SI GPS, 1199ci HD SI Combo, 999ci HD SI Combo, 899ci HD SI Combo, 1198c SI Combo, 998c SI Combo, 998c HD SI Combo, 898c SI Combo, 898c HD SI Combo.

AND can be used with any unit that comes with the standard Compact SI transducer XNT 9 SI 180 T.
