    175hp on a tracker 175

so my first thought when I saw this picture was --- this will be one of those guys who will then complain Trackers are junk when his welds break. (he says he is getting it reprogrammed and other work done to turn into a 125hp - still overpowered - and we are back to the cracked weld thinking)
But it turns out, this motor is a 75HP that he put 175hp stickers on...apparently just so people ask him how fast that thing will go...

    People do weird thing sometimes.

I would think in reverse and ask what is wrong with his motor because his boat is so slow with a 175 on it.

If that 75 is tuned to a 115 or even 125 tune they wont have any transom weld issues. The 190 is rated for 125 hp and at one time 135 hp and the transoms between the 2 are identical like in every way between the 175 and 190 hull. Transom will be just fine ran mine almost 10 years like that with a jack plate welds still look new.

Still beating the hell out of mine. No issues. If i had it to do all over again and realized at the time that a 175 is the same motor and weight as the 150, just different heads, i would have damn sure went with the 175.
