    On The Water Essentials

What are some must have items that you all take/have on the boat at all times when fishing? I just got my new boat last month and still trying to fill in the gaps with everything I need. I have PFDs, fire extinguisher, and registration. Reels, rods, and tackle are included as well. I need advice so give me some suggestions! Thanks BBC

Some states require a throw cushion with a rope on it, toilet paper, pliers, screwdrivers, some require flares, whistle or horn of some type.

Rain gear, first aid kit, sunscreen, toilet paper, wipes, paper towels, soap, ropes, and a sealed dry change of clothes for the conditions. That’s what’s in my box in front of the console.

I also keep a set of jumper cables, spare prop, and assorted tools for basic maintenance in my back box behind seat.
Spare gallon of oil if you have a 2 stroke

Absolutely it is amazing how something that small can start your big motor. I have one always in my boat now after starting battery died on me this spring.

Spare drain plug. 50' rope for launching or towing. 2nd set of keys (ignition and locker). Copy of boaters insurance, especially if you fish tournaments. Boat bumpers. Tie-up ropes for docking. Pull-on rubber boots for rain and shallow launches. Spare TM cord.
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.

    I have:
-Rope for tying up at dock or for towing if I need help or someone else does.
-Extension cord if I fish out of town I can charge the batteries. Forgot it once. Now it stays in the boat.
-Tools for changing out TM prop. Removing battery cables if needed.
-Tool and block for removing prop and an extra hub in case I spin it.
-First aid kit. In my wife's words, "It will get used"!
    -Flashlight.
    -Dry clothes during winter fishing.
    -Paper towels.
-Funnel for adding engine oil in the tank.
    -Extra drain plug.
    -Extra breaker for TM wires.
-Cheap pair of spare sunglasses in console.
-Phone charger that stays in the boat.

    Hope that helps.
