Big Bear Creek & Little Bear Creek Reservoirs

I am planning to visit Big & Little Bear Creek reservoirs in November 2019. Even being a senior almost 79 y.o. I know I have to have a non-resident Alabama fishing license plus a lake use type fee for these lakes.
I know how to get the Alabama license, but:
    1. Where to I get the lake use permits?
    2. How much does it cost for a non-resident fishing 7 day lake use fee?

Most local tackle shops and even some retailers such as Walmart carry BCDA permits. According to the FAQ section of their website, you don’t need a BCDA permit over the age of 65 no matter if you’re a resident or non-resident, just a non-resident fishing license. Here’s a link to their FAQ.

Thanks AveryF for the info and link to the information.

BTW: I did notice in other areas of the website that it appears somewhat out of date But I will bookmark the "Tournaments" area. If would be nice take part in a local bass tournament on one of the Bear Creek waters while I am in the area.

Chances are you'll be close to CJs at some point during your trip if going to Little Bear. You can definitely get your BCDA permit here...the last time I bought a yearly it was only $15 bucks...they aren't terribly expensive.

    Thanks for the information.

I have researched the Alabama fishing license website areas and found out that because I am over 65 years old (79 in a couple weeks), and even thou I am a non-resident of Alabama, I am not required to have a the permit, but I still require a non-resident fishing license.
