    Big Green late fall

Hey all, my buddy and I normally do a trip to the Mississppi River in LAX in late October and typically is a blast but obviously not a ton of big fish. We're thinking of trying BG this year instead to mix it up and chase some SM. Looking like the weekend of October 20. I have fished in spring a few times but that's it. How does it usually fish in the fall? Anything general to look for or baits to try? I assume they school up and will start transitioning deeper. Any tips would be great.

Smallies tend to chase schools of small perch that time of year on the deep weed edges near dropoffs.

Keitech 3.8's in pro staff special or perch. They're not always on swimbaits but when they are it's on. I like snapping tubes with 1/2 oz heads too.

X2 on those color Keitechs that time of year...I do believe it has to do with the Perch like dwtaylor said....I would also add that an A rig works awesome burned over the grass along with jerkbaits, tubes and football jigs.
