Does more rpms equal more speed?

I have a 2018 Triton 19trx Patriot with a 225 ProXs 2-stroke and 3-blade 24 Fury. I am getting 68mph at 5750 rpms. The rev limiter is 6200. If I go down to a 23 Fury and increase my rpms, will my speed go up?

Your rev limiter is actually not 6200 some motors will rev that high before the hard limiter kicks in but most will not. You should be getting a warning alarm before 6100. Decreasing prop pitch will increase rpm's but usually not speed unless you can spin the 23 fury over 6000 rpm's. How high are you running the 24 fury prop to pad now?

I'm wondering the same thing on 115 Merc 4 stroke running 47mph GPS at 5900 rpms if I went from 23 pitch to a 22 pitch if I could gain speed up to 50

Yes and no. I have had both scenarios work out. Larger pitch for more speed at lower OAL rpm and the opposite but two props are not always equal. With each prop selection comes some sort of trade off and one has to evaluate the OAL performance.

This does not sound right for this rig,
    What elevation are you at
Do you have pole on this rig
    Abnormal heavy load
In answer to your question though, to achieve maximum speed you generally need to be propped very close to the RPM where the motor makes peak torque or just a little higher, which I believe to be about 5950 for your motor
Might want to consider having the prop checked out by Mark Croxten or Ronnie Gilbert, Mark is a board sponsor
    Thank You Leon Pugh

My prop to pad is 3 1/2”. I have a hydraulic jackplate. The manual says the rev limiter is 6200.

I have 2 blades, 4 batteries, 112 ultrex and a hydraulic jackplate. I should probably get a hold of Mark.
