02 225HO Ficht bogs down at take off.

02 225HO Ficht Model # E225FHLSNF will bog down at take but if I stay on it or back on and off will eventually get on plane. Recently had to adjust shifting. I have not take it out since I had it adjusted properly. I need to hook it up to the laptop to see if there are any codes. Ideas?

Have you performed a compression check? How many hours on the plugs? Do you XD100 if no have you done a decarb?

Running XD100, Etec thermostats with the appropriate plugs. Not sure on hours with the plugs. Have not done a compression check, will try to do that this weekend. Did a decarb last year.

Do the compression check and look at the plugs.

Work and life have been getting in the way. What would happen if I accidentally ran some untreated fuel for a bit? Would that possibly clog the filters?

Checked the plugs and had to re-do the gap on all plugs. Hope to get it out on the lake this weekend.

Yep gap set to .28. I haven't checked the exhaust sensor. Thanks for bringing that up. Will do that before I take it out.

After regapping ran great 1st few times then starting bogging down again.Went ahead and replaced all the plugs. Checked compression and had from 95-105. Meant to check exhaust sensor, will do that this evening. How should the plugs look after just running 45 minutes? Should there be any black? Will get pics.

Yes. That's just after 45 minutes warm up to do a compression check. I've got extra, I'll see if others will line up closer.

Those plugs look to be wet. How has your oil usage been, you may be over oiling. Do a oil pressure test, check the oil return line for restriction.

It hasn't seemed like it's been using a lot of oil. How much is an average usage? I'll check the return to see how it looks. If there is not restriction and it is over oiling how is that fixed?

Eddie, have you checked the bottom two throttle bodies for wot when getting on plane??? Pull the cowl and the air silencer and have someone get her up on plane while you observe the throttle bodies...I had that problem on my 225HO and realized I had a broke shaft on the throttle body....5 were opening up....# 6 wasn't Sometimes the bottom two will act up due to the rubber hoses slipping or as in my case a broken throttle body shaft....ALWAYS check the simple things first if compression checks out.....JMHO

Thanks. I'll check that this weekend when I get a chance to get out on the water for a bit. Wish there was a way to test this on the muffs hah.
