Alright fellas,
The dilemma I have I believe is fuel related, but I'm no outboard mechanic. First off it's a 1993 Johnson 90 hp. It will start and idle for a few minutes. However, it will begin to run rough and die unless you pump the primer bulb again. Last time on the water I could get it to idle, but when in gear and trying to take off it would fall on its face and die. I never got it to stay running while in gear. I had the carbs rebuilt 2 years ago and replaced the primer bulb and fuel line to the engine, but not the fuel line from the bulb to the engine. Today, I pulled the entire fuel line off and put new line on and used the same bulb and my problem still continues.......
Could this be the fuel pump? Carbs?
