    Google Earth / HDS Gen 2

    This might be a crazy question but can you pull up google earth on the HDS Gen2s?

    No, not if mean directly in real time but my Navionics chip has satellite imagery. I think there are ways to convert a Google Earth file to a format compatible with the HDS but I never felt like messing with it. Google it and you'll find some iff.

    I am just looking to have the google map on my unit so I can pull it up while on the water...dont really need it in real time.

    Google Earth is a proprietary program. You can use it on your computer with a subscription but to be shown on an HDS unit is a pretty complicated process. You may be thinking of Navionics satellite view which are available if you have a Navionics Platinum card and if the area your are in is one of the covered locations. If you have a card, then go to Overlay options and select Satellite. Here is a link to how to convert Google Earth to Lowrance
