Why are Lowrance units considered to have better 2D sonar than Humminbird and Humminbird considered to have better Side imaging than Lowrance? I have been fishing a lot with a friend who has Lowrance 16 HDS units and I think the Humminbird Mega SI on my Helix units seem to be better but the Lowrance 2D does look very good. I also ask him what he runs his sensitivity on his 2D at and he says he always runs it on Auto sensitivity. He said he thought all brands had Auto sensitivity. Is there a reason Humminbird units do not use the Auto feature on the Helix units?
