At the trim level we have the ford and Chevy do ride really nice. Not sedan nice or anything but not bad to sit in all day and click off the miles.

I have a 08 F450 and my dad has a 16 3500 ram. Without a doubt the ram is the better ride and drive. As far as dependability? I will take Ford everyday.
Sorry but Chevy shouldn’t even be mentioned in heavy duty trucks, they just won’t hold up.
Depends on the state. In WA if you're over 16k GVWR you must stop at scales, commercial or not.
Get whatever will work for your intended purpose regardless of ride. The HD trucks all ride a little stiff, you get used to it. Coils help a lot, but also introduce more sway into the equation. For 3-8000lbs a 3/4 ton will more than suffice imo.

I drove a 3500 Chevy for five years. I’m sure they’ve gotten plusher since 97, but it doesn’t sound like they ride any better. From what you describe I’d go with the dealer that has the best service department. I bought mine from a dealer that had a huge fleet department. When I pulled up for an oil change, warranty work, anything I went to a fleet line and got faster service because I bought a fleet work truck. Sounds. Like you’re going to pile the miles on. They all need service. Time is money.
Obviously we don’t have plow trucks in Texas, but wouldn’t something like a f450 be better for that?

We’ve got several Fords and Chevy 1 tons. Six one way 1/2 dozen the other on just about everything.

If considering a Dually...I would bet that they'd ride quite a bit worse than a similar truck with 4 tires on the ground. Considerably more unsprung weight in the rear is part of it. The other part is that each absorbs 1/4 instead of 1/2 of any impact...assuming same tire load capacity.
Don't bother me, I'm screwing for virginity.
I killed a 12-pack just to watch it die.
Your best bet is to go out and drive them all and then pick the one you like the best and pray it treats you good.
The new RAM 3500 with Cummins is a sweet ride. The HD has 1000 lb-ft of torque.
