I use mono on almost all rods. Braid for the heavy cover/frogs, flouro on cranks and TRig. I will be changing my TRig to 17 lb Suffix soon though.

Currently boatless but will always drive a Bass Cat
16# - 20# mono for topwater stick type baits, 25# mono Whopper Ploppers, buzzbaits, and big spinnerbaits. Sometimes swim jigs on 20# mono if I’m making longer casts. Sunline Super Natural lets me step up a couple of sizes in a smaller diameter line.
FC for cranks, bottom contact baits. Braid for frogs, flipping, pitching, and punching. They all have their place.

To me nothing is easier to cast accurately around targets than a good mono.

Big Game mono for everything; bass, walleye, trout and salmon.
I use mono, 8 lb. Trilene XL Clear, on a 6 1/2' medium light spinning rod with a Ned rig and with a Texas rigged finesse worm using a 1/8th oz. slip sinker. I like the stretch in the line, especially with the Ned rig. I've caught a number of largemouths up to 4 lbs. and plenty of smallies up to 3 1/2 lbs. on the Ned using this set up. I really like the stretch on the smallmouths for when they make a sudden run near the boat.

Yo Zuri copoly and braid.
Topwater, big swimbaits and backing only for me. Every other year or so I try it out on a pitching/flipping setup or cranking setup and I hate it. Way too spongy and stretchy.
I hate the feel and sound of braid. I still use it, nothing like straightening out the hook on a stuck jig or bringing the stump up to the top where you can unhook it. That said I seldom use over 10 pound mono on a spinning rod. If I'm walking the dog braid takes a lot of the effort out of it.
12# Big Game cranking & spinnerbaits. Braid for chatterbait, frog, buzz & worm.
The only thing that's kept me from spooling up my Trig with mono is that I feel like I would be missing out on sensitivity.

I use Pline cxx 10lb for crankbaits and spooks/topwaters. Sometimes I’ll use 12 if it’s all I have. Suffix elite 8lb on every spinning rig I own. I have caught enough bruisers on both that makes me content.
I do keep a few bottom contact rigs with Seaguar invisx. The only advantage I have found is abrasion resistance, comes in handy fishing rocks. Honestly, since I moved back to lead I’ve noticed a lot less break offs. Can’t tell a bit of difference in stretch between the three.
12lb mono for everything except spinning reels, they are straight braid.
P-line flourocarbon for jigs and Texas rigs. Berkley Sensation mono for everything else.
All I use is mono, unless I'm in Florida or Texas... Then I'll have braid on the flippin' sticks... Dan
what's mono?

topwater only for me
17 to 20 lb Monofilament for top water lures ,,, fluorocarbon everything else....
Ballistics defined : The science of projectiles in motion.
How did I ever catch a fish back in the day when Trilene and Stren was about it? It was hard, but we managed. Mono all the way now. If I ever fish a frog in the slop again, I'll string up the braid.
I use mono as a leader from braid on most of my rods except topwater. Topwater is straight braid.
I use mono and braid only.
