Watching the BM Elites on the St. Lawrence where lots of dropshotting was going on, most guys go into their lockers for a replacement when a small bait is ripped or lost. Seems like a big waste of time and energy, when they could put a small pkg in their pocket like I saw one guy doing. Assuming they were using type same bait over and over.
They probably have decals all under the compartment lid that they want you to see.

I usually keep a pack close by but if I start going through baits quick I put a pack in my pocket

I always put the pack of baits I'm using in my pocket when I'm drop shotting. Especially the bait I really like to use. Catches fish like crazy but it's for the most part one fish per bait deal.
They use the one hundred bulk packs.........
I keep all the stuff I use regularly in 3700 boxes, so that would be one reason to have to go back to the locker. Another might be the wind. I’ve had half empty packs blow out just from the wind and for sure when running.

You know what's funny, none of the Pro's are sitting here tonight, surfing BBC, saying how they watched Joey BagO'donuts today casting into the trees and missing strikes, LOL. Bottom line, it's their system, and they are doing better than us, I say just watch and learn.
