I woke to the smell of gas in my boat this morning.
I pulled the bench seats and started digging around. I noticed a pool of gasoline where the napkin is in the picture. Adjacent to the pool of gas, I found the starboard fuel gauge sensor to be wet, whereas the port side fuel gauge sensor is bone dry. I cleaned off the starboard side and noticed it was bubbling gas. The red arrow gives a better indication of where the bubbling is happening, but it is NOT the grey area but just above it. It appears in the pic to be a black disc but is actually red/brownish. So just below the brass and above the grey.
Has anyone experienced similar?
I assume replacing it would solve the issue, but we all know what they say about assumptions. Any thoughts on replacement being the fix and if so how to actually replace?
