Will the transducer that comes with the new Lowrance trolling motor connect to my Gen 3 12? One video said it would connect to the Carbons or Lives. Also, will the foot pedal fit in the recessed try I have for my Fortrex?

From everything I've read and heard, it's an HDI transducer. If that's the case, at worst you would need an adapter to mate up from the plug on it to your unit. I think the only limitation with a Gen 3 is that you won't be able to control the trolling motor from the unit itself, while you can do that from the Carbon and Live units.
Lowrance's published specs (near bottom of the page) on the foot pedal dimensions are 11 3/4" long x 7 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" tall.
