purple Zoom finesse worm - Brookville lake.
8 pounds even. I hooked the fish with a crankbait and handed the rod to him. He managed land the fish after a crazy fight. It was the only fish we caught that day. Fun memories.
It shook my grip and went back in while I was trying to get the scale. My guess was in the 12 pound range, on a black and blue jig. Went back there with Stephanie years ago before we split up. And I was pitching a jig and told her I seen the big one coming to it again, but a 6 pounder shot by it and grabbed the jig first as I set the hook. And sure enough pulled a 6 in the boat. Last time I seen it. I have seen big ones following baits, but don't know another has been that big in that area. Though in a totally different area of the pit I had one on a saltwater big bomber minnow plug that I think would have been a few pounds bigger. Monster bass with eyes bulging out the head. And I ended up hooking one of them when it shook my bait near the boat.
The biggest I have heard anyone say they have caught in there were in the 14 pound range. One guy in a Backcountry flats boat told me over the years he was able to boat 2 in the 14 pound range from one pit I fish.
7lb 5oz smallie caught this spring. One I’ll never forget.
I haven't weighed any of my big fish while out fun fishing since I was in my mid 30's, and I'm 61 now. It's just not something I care all that much about anymore. With that said, the biggest fish caught on my boat that was weighed, was caught by my dad in a tournament on Salt Fork Lake in southeast Ohio. It went 5.75 lbs. It was big bass of the tournament and ended up being the big bass of the year for the tournament circuit we were fishing. It was caught on a #7 Fat Free Shad in the Tennessee Shad color.
As for the biggest fish caught on my boat period ...... I have no idea how much it weighed, or how long it was. I caught it on Turkey Foot in the Portage Lakes chain in northeast Ohio. I caught it on a Reaction Innovations 4.20 Sweet Beaver in the Green Gobi color. My dad and I guessed it between 7 1/2 - 8 lbs. Back when I was weighing fish while out fun fishing, I caught one that went 6 lbs. 11 ounces and this one was a lot fatter than that one. I took a picture and put it back in the water.

Slightly over 8 lb. Last summer during the heat of the day, over 100˚, on a shakey head, 5" Roboworm, and 10# leader that broke when I gave it a good tug.
(I've given up getting pics to come out right side up. )
Don't worry Ma'am....
I'm only here for the Bass.

I have owned my boat 20 years and I have caught 7 bass of more than 14 lbs. during that time. Three of those bass were 15 lbs. This past June I was fortunate to catch two bass 13 and 12 lbs. I posted a picture on the Florida board of the 13 pounder. In 2017 I caught a 14 lb. bass on East Lake Toho.
8-15 LM on a yellow perch buzzbait. Caught her at straight up noon on a 90 degree day on an isolated stump with grass around it.
I saw her swirl a couple times. I think it was on the 6th or 7th cast to the same spot. Finally made her mad enough to go after whatever was making all that noise. Had two over 6 that day on the same bait. One of the best days I’ve had in years.
