    Helix 12 speed offset

Is there such a thing as speed off set on a Helix GPS. When going thru all the settings, I saw a listing that said something like that. If so, how do I know I have it off?

Yes, there is a Offset Speed setting in the main Chart menu.
It is used to move the position curser from the center of the Chart views to near the bottom of the Chart view to give you more map ahead of your direction.
The offset mph setting is when the position curser changes its position--adjustable 5-60mph. There is no Off.

    Thanks Wayne
So it just moves the curser to bottom of screen for view of map ahead. I tried to turn it off thinking it was a GPS adjustment. I will play with it to see what I like best. My normal cruse speed is 33 MPH, so do I set it at 30?

You may want the offset to not be activated until that speed.
Depends on the Zoom range you use.

I set my vessel offset at 7 mph. That's the approximate speed you'll start covering some water fast enough to want to have more map in front of the boat cursor.

Thanks Both, I will try 7. So much adjustment to these units and I have the problem of just fishing and never learning the units while on the water.

I have had mine set at 20(minimum on plane speed for me) I don't like it on the bottom of the screen for anything but running. Had found times the screen could not catch up. Just another customization feature. Bob
