Hopefully that's it for the heat waves, and the torrential down pours that don't do anything but wash soil away.

I'll go with that. For me here in SE Texas fall is actually the start of my new fishing season as I go mid Sept to late July. August is re-tackle and cleaning reels time.

Falls too short, but it's my favorite season of the year, followed by spring

It’ll go from blistering heat to relentless north wind over night here. Currently it’s hot as a firecracker in Mississippi

Ready for it here too...we were having an insanely mild summer till about 3 weeks ago then the wheels fell off. On average though it will go down as a milder summer but I am ready for that slight chill in the air to get the fish schooling more and crushing topwaters and shallow crankbaits all day.

Fall to me is the most beautiful time of the year. Wish it lasted as long as the summer does. Fishing can be feast or famine but at least I enjoy myself. Spring around here is either winter or summer, bouncing back and forth. But summer is just plain hot and muggy. Every so often you will get a day with low humidity and then at least you can breathe. One thing that I have learned though is my comfort and the fish bite has very little in common!

I hope so, I was driving home and it was like 98 outside. I hope it's 80 so I can do some fishing in the morning on Saturday.

I'm heading for Ontario on Sunday, just as the cooler weather arrives. But since our water temps are in the upper 80's it will take a while to reach a more reasonable level. Right now its fishing in bath water. Yuck.

I have been wanting this summer to be over with for the last 6 weeks. We have had the worst humidity along with the heat that I can remember for some time.

Fall fishing is great here, too, but I have to be careful about wishing it would hurry and get here. Every fall, just as the big ones start biting, we hit streaks where the wind keeps us off the water 5 days out of 6. October is notoriously fickle, weather-wise, and in November the fishing days get really short. They don’t start biting until 1 or 2 p.m., and quit at 3:30!
