250 Pro XS 2 stroke- lower mount covers issue

I have had 3 lower mount covers (black plastic rectangular plastic with 3 screws) break/crack in last 6 months.

Have checked for movement in motor mounts, there is none.

Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I've never had a problem... Post here on the Mercury 3 Liter and 3 Liter High Performance page, you might get more traffic and an answer... Dan

Blue loctite and just barely snug the screws. Since I've done this no issues. It's a known design flaw and is very irritating. Fyi, nothing wrong whatsoever running without them and Mercury sure is proud on the cost of them. They are simply a cosmetic item and will not harm a thing to run without them.

There was a post a couple of years ago about that issue. Do a search on here, you should find those old posts.

There was a service bulletin out about them a few yrs ago, you may want to check with your local dealer about it. If i find my copy i will post the info
