Yes, Ultra "plugs" into the cradle just like the 93's do. Same concept.

I havent taken mine apart but i'm saying yes cause all the cable plug to back of cradle and its the same design as the Echomap Plus cradle.

But it is a much improved clamping system.
Never had an issue with the EC Plus but do like the new style better.

Just with the problems Iam hearing of on the 93 it seems like a crazy design as the 1242 is not like that ,just thinking of problems down the road.
The new cradle design is much better IMHO. But I've never had any problem with the 73 series with the old design.

I have the 93SV’s and not a single cradle problem. I’ve had mine being pulled down the road at 70 mph (attached to my boat) in a snow storm (yes! Way to fast) and in pouring rain. Then 110 degrees sitting outside at Lake Mohave all day.
