How to prevent wear spot near hot foot

First season w the new Z519 and already noticed that if I’m not careful, the spot where I place my heel as I use my hot foot could wear thin.

What at do you all use to keep this from happening? On my previous boat I tried a small rubber floor mat from my car. Lost it as it must have flown out when traveling on the highway, so that won’t work. Other ideas?

I'd say glue a rubber pad, a small one to the carpet maybe. Drive barefoot.

A rubber mat from Lowe’s works great. Place under console and cut it to form around hotfoot.

Get rid of hot foot and use hand throttle.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will look for a rubber mat to cut around and fit in that area. Great idea.

@dave a. Lol. I wasn’t a believer until I tried to steer a boat going in excess of 55mph. Much easier to have both hands available to turn a heavy steering wheel. Was an inexpensive add on...for me so worth it.

Do you have cable steering? If so you might need a torque tab.

Your steering should NEVER be that heavy. You need to trim down until it is easy and smooth to turn.

Its a little extra work.. I loosen hot foot and slip a small auto mat under the rear screws and re install.. then it won't blow out or slip out from under when getting up or down to fish

I've always used a piece of 3/16 thick rubber gasket material, and attached it as Mike does above.

Never had to worry about such a thing. I’m surprised that this many people actually have.

I would suggest you install a Hot Foot slide mount.

Mash the pedal all the way down and don't lift your foot off until you get to your spot!!
