I just mounted a new to me hds gen 3 12 moving my gen 3, 9 to the bow. Now I can’t get structure scan to read. I try to select transducer but have no idea which one to select without also affecting my regular sonar. How do I read my lss2?

I have to add that lss2 is hooked to console gen 3, 12 then 12 and 9 are networked via Ethernet cable.
While on the Structure page at the console, tap source in the bottom right corner, and select “This Unit”. You don’t have to select the transducer but you do have to tell it where to get the data.

On the console structure is working fine now. That unit shows itself or HDS 9 at the bow as sources on structure scan. The hds 9 is the one that won’t display structure scan. When I check sources on that unit it only shows itself. I’m thinking this is why it’s not reading since lss2 is connected to the 12 then networked through Ethernet. Connections seem fine since waypoints save between units.
It sounds like a bad Ethernet cable but if waypoints are sharing and you don’t have a NMEA network that can’t be it. Next make sure all units are up to date on software, save waypoints, and do hard resets on both units. Turn on the 12, reinstall waypoints, and select This Unit for source. Then turn on the 9 and check Structure sources again. You sure on the 9, LSS 2 isn’t a choice?

My 9 is a version behind the 12 in software updates. How do I check specifically to see if lss2 is a choice. In transducer selection?
See post #3. Source is a menu item on the Structure page

Man I hate to keep bothering you but yeah in that menu all is see is this unit. If you click on it there is no change.
Ok, so now go to post 5 and do all those things but it is sounding more and more like a bad Ethernet cable. Do you have a Navionics card that shares between units? That is the easiest way to tell that they are truly networked by Ethernet. Otherwise, I’m stumped. Source sharing is automatic and I’ve never even seen the least issue between my units. It’s hard to diagnose over the internet. Can you provide your entire system including software version. All devices, power sources, and connections. That’s the only way to get to the bottom without being there

They are sharing Navionics and map is working fine. HDS 12 is running version 7.0. HDS 9 is running 3 something. I’m going to update it and try again.
Lee, you have the generic 83/200 selected on the bow, right? (Making sure you don’t have the HDI selected by accident)
That’s correct. The generic is selected.
