First night in our new lake house

I purchased 3 small cabins connected to our two acres on Pickwick lake last September. Cabins were 11 years old and were run down. To be accessible it required that we have a new road built. The last two weeks dozers and backhoes have been running and the road is now finished. One of the cabins just needed cleaning, painting and some minor repairs. The other two are yet to be determined. We live on a noisy road in town and last night all I could hear were frogs and Owls. Strangely quiet! We were up here unloading furniture and just decided why not? As usual we found things we needed to bring up here and some things we would like to change. I have been trying to buy them for 5 years. Ready to figure out what kind of housing I want for a boat. The other two cabins can wait. The boat has priority now!

I know what you mean about the quiet, we moved from a noisy area where even during the night you could hear traffic, trains and airplane noise to the country in a lake community where about the only thing you hear crickets and tree frogs and the occasional good ol' boy pickup truck with loud pipes coming or going to work. Love it out here as I'm sure you do yours. Congrats

The lack of “noise” is all I think about when I’m in the woods! Congrats on your cabins.
