holy crap struck by lightning

Hi didn't get struck. That's an effect of a camera lens, similar to when you see smaller 'suns' diagonally across the image, when the sun is in the corner of the shot.

If the lightning stroke had been in the frame, it would have been a huge white streak, or even made the entire frame pure white.

(I have shot lightning with several high-end digital cameras, since 1999).

Explains what I couldn't understand- no bolt. Is it kind of like strong static?

Just shows there is no need to be scared. If it hits you, you'll be fried before you know it and the lightning will be gone! He took a couple more steps before he even realized what had happened!
