    2003 200HP 3.1L OX66 Max RPM

Can anyone tell me what the max operating RPM is for this motor? I am going to lake test a boat tomorrow with this motor on it and have never owned a Yamaha before.
Are there online manuals I can view or just have to buy a hard copy?
I tried searching but didn't see an answer...

I found a couple of sources that say 5300-5500, is this correct?

As yam911 showed, the factory says 5500 max. That being said, many people run them at 5800-6000 without issue.

Mine was setup to run 5,800 although I didn't run it there a lot.

    THANKS Fellas!
So am I correct to believe that the higher the RPM the more HP being produced?

The rev limiter is 6150 and will run at 6000 just fine, But I prefer 5800 for overall performance... 5500 is too low.

The document I posted indicates that maximum HP (200) is being produced at 5000 RPM. Any RPM above that the HP will normally be less. Having said that, there are a number of positive results when propping to reach the upper end (5500) of the RPM range.

Obviously a number of folks will prop the motor so that the red line RPM can be exceeded.

Thanks for the thoughts fellas, it is truly appreciated. I ran the boat Saturday and it was turning right at 6000 RPM's when it was all stretched out with a Tempest 25 that needs a little attention from Mark C.
Boat followed me home and I am now a proud member of the Yamaha OX66 clan.

Obviously I cannot confirm hours but the motor is super clean under the cowl, no damage to the skeg, very little paint worn off and compression was within 1 psi across all cylinders.
