    Grease in the hubs

When you reassemble the hubs after packing bearings with grease do you want to try to completely fill the inside of the hub with grease before putting the outer bearing on?

Nobody seems to do that in the videos that I have watched, but if you don’t how can the bearing buddies keep the pressure in the hubs?

I don’t have bearing buddies but with my easy lube spindles, I want the whole hub filled with grease. Otherwise it makes it easier for water to be sucked in when dunked. More air equals more heat expansion, which equals more contraction/suction when dunked.

Searching the internet turns up just as many opinions that the hubs should be filled as not. I sent a message to Bearing Buddy and asked. I will report what they say.

    According to Bearing Buddies website:

Remove hubs and check the bearings before installing Bearing Buddy®. Replace bearings if they are damaged, rusted, or pitted. Clean old grease and contaminants out of the hubs. Check the condition of the inner seals. Be sure they are new, top quality, and running on a smooth spindle sealing surface. IMPORTANT: As you reassemble the components, fill the hubs completely with a high quality, multipurpose, no.2 grade lubricant (e.g., the type used for automotive suspensions). Don't use heavy, fibrous greases; don't mix grease types.

Folks have a tendency and want to continue to pump grease into the hub. Full is full so if you keep putting more grease into the system the end result is blown rear seals.
