What size wire between batteries in a 24v series setup?

Hello

I'm wiring the batteries for my ultrex 80lbs. I've used 4gauge wire from the motor to the batteries.

What size wire should I use to wire the two batteries in series? My only load on this system is the trolling motor.

The batteries are located right beside each other so theres a very short run.

Some of that left over 4 gauge will be perfect.

Go to Napa, or any Semi Truck dealer and get a "Jumper Wire". Pre-Made and in Black or Red.
