Wanting to come down for a redfish trip. Any suggestions on a guide for them and maybe pick up some other species. They all look good on the internet.

Redfish are very plentiful right now.. catching plenty and easily around lake Catherine, east of New Orleans..
guides, I’d call sweetwater marina at Delacroix.. very easy to get a mixed bag of redfish and bass..
speckled trout are a little harder to find right now being summer and all the freshwater from the river flowing through lake ponchartrain all year.. unless you go to grand isle..
i cant recommend any specific guides as I’ve never hired a guide and don’t know any personally..
i just know captain jack at sweetwater stays busy and is loved by many.... he’s gotta be doing something right!!
Here are a few I am comfortable recommending.
https://www.laredfish.com/ The Frenettes are my neighbors, great people and they run a first class operation. The lodge is nice and cooking is great. Mike and his sons guide and fish Redfish Tour. Venice area
https://www.facebook.com/captalden.bourgeois Great guy and will find fish. Less expensive than others. I am not sure if he has lodging but his brother does. Lafitte area and south
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001781975397 another great guy, will work hard for fish. I think mostly Lafitte area and south
This guy is well respected and has a unique option. You go to Lafitte and take a seaplane to the Chandeleur Islands. He also does traditional charters but if thats what you want for the money I would go to the Mike Frenette.

Caught around 40 today easily, 5 minute boat ride from the house..managed 7 keepers..(16 inches). So the majority are small but man, they’re fun... I caught one on my 3rd cast, my girlfriend caught 1 on her first cast!!
Decided to go with Venice Guide Service. Looked good in the pictures, but who doesn't?
You will get tired of catching them
My good friend and I have gone with Big Dog Charters the last 3 years and loaded up each time. They are a family run charter and all really nice folks. Their fishing cabins are also first rate and right at the dock where the boats take off from. They fish out of Barataria, LA near Lafitte.

Booked a trip with Big Dog Charters also.
If this is your first inshore trip, get ready to never feel the same about bass fishing again!
Done a bunch of offshore, and I like that, but first inshore and first time for redfish.
