Repairing Crack in Hull on Small Boat

Hey guys. I'm helping a buddy fix a crack in his small boat hull. We were able to "originally" make a fix using fiberglass netting and resin. It was temporary.

Could I use Marine Tex with fiberglass netting? I was thinking that that would be a very strong repair.

How do I keep the Marine Tex from dripping? If I'm repairing the bottom of the boat :-) I was thinking about using Saran wrap or aluminum foil to keep it up. I don't know? Or possibly wait for it to start getting tacky before I put it up.

Thank you in advance for your support.

    I called MarineTex. They confirmed.
Also to wait few minutes for it to be more tacky before putting it on bottom of boat to resist dripping. MarineTex thin layer, fiberglass then MarineTex on top. I will give it a shot. Maybe I posted this in the wrong forum...
