What happens if motor is too low

Just curious what does having motor to low affect? Not asking what height for my motor or anything just trying to learn.

    Slows you down, more drag.

Usually in rough, you're not going fast anyway. Just trying to keep the lower in good water as you bob and weave.

If it's too low, it's just too much of the lower unit in the water, more drag. You are not getting the most efficiency from your boat. It will slow the boat down and use more fuel.

Lowers rpm, affects hole shot and performance. On the other hand an engine that is too high raises rpms, the boat will have a tendency to blow out coming out of the hole, and in turns, lowers water pressure to the engine. Always try to find a happy medium.
