    Thumbs Up Fish on SideVu.....

A while back someone was asking about seeing fish on sidevu.....got a few snaps of this today with the GT30.....

I'll say, the more i use this unit the better i like it and have better readings with the GT30 than the GT34UHD ducer set up i had....

On the left side you will see the white dots, i belive those are fish, cant be stumps as the shadows do not "meet" up with the white dot.......first pic they are in the upper left side of screen and then the second shot is the same fish just more centered on the left side.

Yes very nice pics. Have read some previous posts that you gave up on the UHD34 and went with the GT30. I have had the UHd34 for a couple of months and after trying this and that found that the clearVu was pretty good but sidescan was unacceptable. Considering the GT30 now. My setup is ECmap plus 93sv w CV52 for 2D and the UHD. I fish midwest water mainly less than 40 ft. What head unit and mounting location are u using. Any favorite settings?
    Thanks

Yeah, i had the UHD system and wasnt impressed with it....like you the down was decent but side was shitty at best, at least for me......

I'm now using the Ultra 12 Plus with the GT30 mounted on the jackplate with Transducer Shield Saver bracket and wedge. As for settings, i'm pretty much using factory settings with a small tweak here and there....

Here is a post where i have some with the 93 Plus/GT30......

Shallow water looks nice. How about deeper water?

I have a 93SV+, would i need to have the GCV 10 in order to connect a GT 30?

No, but since the GT30 does not have 2d capabilities, you will need to get the splitter cable so you can have both GT30 and 2d ducer connected to the unit.

How would that work with the GT-52? Or would it since the GT-52 is also 12 pin?

Well didn't know you had the GT52's...... I don't think the split cable would work so in that case you might would have to use the GCV10/GT30. Now will that work with the GT52, i "think" so, but can't be for certain ( you would need to call Garmin). Yes, the unit would have the GT52 connected direct and the GCV connected via network cable.
