    1997 200EFI tachometer not working

I was wondering if or how to troubleshoot the problem it is a quicksilver tach that came on the boat originally in 1997 and my motor serial number is 0G550117 I need to see if it is turning the 5700 rpms on the top end because I have lost about 10 mph my compression is holding around 115 psi on all 6 cylinders so I am just trying to figure something out

If you would, please take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to provide the Required Info when posting. Thanks!

In addition to Joe's suggestion- inspect the YELLOW and RED wires on the regulators for any burnt, browned or blackened connectors. If you find this- very likely there is a regulator problem (replace BOTH regulators and any damaged connectors).
