USA DD26 Fishing Mean Mount For the 4S PRO XS ....

Anyone use this vs a regular transom saver on the new 4S Pro XS? A little expensive but looks to be made very well and they also offer the steering sleeve to prevent the motor from turning as well. I am ordering a new rig and looking at the mounts to support the motor.

    Any feedback is appreciated!

I have one on my engine. Works very well and I’m pleased with it.

I've been using one all season, works great. But, it sure is expensive.

It will probably out last the boat.

I have both the mean mount transom saver and the mean stops steering locks. They are a little pricey but they work great!! They keep the new Pro XS 4 stroke from moving at all. I'd recommend them for sure!!

Toterite has a nice one I just got and not as expensive. It also doesn't allow the motor to move so no need for the clips

In the video it looks like it may flex a little when the motor is brought down snug? Is the Tote-Rite heavy enough to last? Does it allow any side to side?

    Thanks

I don’t think DD26 makes one for the 150 4 stroke. Tote rite does

Just looking at the video it appears at the end to move side to side with very little input..

I use steering clips for my 150. The Tote-Rite is very heavy duty and will last.
The issue is that the way the motor is made limits options for design on the 150

The Tote-Rite looks like it doesn't raise the motor very high. I have a steep driveway that requires my motor to be fairly high or the skeg will hit the ground as I exit. I've also seen many drive approaches going into gas stations with deep street gutters that would create contact with the skeg as you enter. I had to lengthen my old transom saver for the new 150 Pro XS.

Are the steering clips a must for the DD26 Mean Mount or will the motor turn without them?

I got a Tote-Rite with my new Mercury 4 stroke 175hp engine and have only trailered it home from Tn. The jury is still out but I hope it doesn't all the motor to turn while I am driving. It appears rock solid but now for certain just yet.

It will turn without them. This just supports the motor steering clips are required.
