    Expected speed 21 XDC

What would be a average speed for a 2003 21XDC with a 2014 250 pro XS , 1.75 SM , 29 pro max, 1-1/4" above pad. 14" jack plate with 2" spacer's 16" total setback . Turning 6,000 rpm. 1/2 tank of fuel , no water in live well, ultrex 80 TM. moderate amount of tackle most in rear boxes , 220 lbs. driver and 150 lbs. passenger , seems like 78 mph is all i can get. Running 3/4" above pad turning 5,800 rpm same speed . is this about avg.

I think a 28P Promax would be faster. I would think 3/4-1 inch below the pad would be better with less pitch.

I missed the SM part... I think it may be the weak link with a load.

Sporty will work if you run light, had one on my 2004 21XDC with a 2005 250XS with1:62's ran 87.8 a few times, but from what you posted, you need a TM

That makes no sense. Sportmaster is designed to run higher that the TM. OP said he is 1-1/4 inch ABOVE pad.

So your saying a sportmaster 3/4" below pad is slower than a TM at 3/4" below pad ?

    Respectfully, I don't think so.
Keep in mind the OP is running above the pad.

We ran both a sporty and a TM on Canadabullets 21XDC/250XS with moderate load 2 guys, At 1/2" below pad they both ran identical speeds. Sporty was faster light load, the TM was faster when you loaded basspro shops in the boat. I know most guys think a TM is better but To me personally its a coin toss which one is better. They both have there advantages.

IMO...above or below the pad, a sport on a 21 with a “load” will not carry the weight a TM will.

I will start taking some of my unnecessary items out and get as light as possible , i could tell a difference last year when i put the ultrex trolling motor on and replaced 1 battery with a 31 group agm .

TM below pad will be quicker than Sporty below pad. TM will carry a load better on a 21xd.
