Ted, you may very well be correct. I disagreed only because I did not think a TM could be run above the pad. A member here has a 21SS with a sporty on a 300XS and posted a video on BBC of him running 102.
IMO, a sporty above the pad will be faster than a TM below the pad when the TM is below the pad a normal amount as in 2-3 inches below even on a 21. You will give up some hole shot. But, I have no direct knowledge and you may be correct.

A TM will not run above the pad and I didn’t mean for it to sound that way. A TM on a 21 will only be below the pad 1/2 to 3/4 below in most cases. I’m only sayin with a load a TM should be faster that a Sport will be just because a sport won’t carry the load like a TM.

That's what i'm saying. A 29 promax on a 21xd/250 is ALOT of prop with 1.62 gears. I'm assuming his mistaken and his friend has 1.75 gears.

You can run a tm at 1/2” below pad. A 21xdc is capable of 86 loaded with a 250

Rest in Peace Buddy Poche - Bayou Bullet.
I will miss you my dear friend.

Only if your Tim Powell running down river..... Honest loaded to fish with 2 is usually anywhere from 78-84 depending on setup down here.....Mine is usually 81-83 in the heat, 1:75s on a Yamaha with similar power to a Merc 250. I can probably get 86ish Solo, just haven’t really run it solo yet

I never ran close to the upper 80's loaded with my 21 XDC, got to almost 88 before I had to turn once and I had a sporty on the 2005 250XS
