Guys, beware especially with ss3d module update to 19.1. Several modules in Europe was damaged because of this software and mistakes during instalation of this. After this there's no way back. Module can't turning on,both led are blinking all time, no ss3d on deviace list
If You have 19.1 update already on module- try to decrease speed of your boats to 2 mph for better imaging
19.1 software version is just bad because it's failures:
- problems with trnsducers auto-recognize, temperature on display
-ss3d update
-it's blocking MG Xi3 update through the MFD, when installation is fall, and MFD is turned off, xi3 need repair. Service can't just flashing new software, xi3 need interface module repair
- Navico recomended recording file in .SL2 format last time because there are problems with .SL3 after 19.1
FWIW, I continue to run 19.1 on both my SS3D, and 2 HDS Carbons, with no issues...your mileage may vary...

So is 18.2-60.1.142 what we are considering the best roll back firmware for the SS3D unit at this point? I don't have anything previous to that, I don't think anything previous to that has been posted.
Has it been mentioned exactly how you go about rolling back an update to a previous version? I apologize if I missed that.
It's nice having a "library" of updates, thanks to those who shared them.

I`m happy with 61.1.123 on the module so that is what I rolled back to. (18.3)

I am pretty sure your images show the exact problem. As I stated the images in water in depths less than 25ft are ok. They do not seem to be effected by the contrast issue as much or interference but it is still there. It rears its head when going over soft and hard bottoms. Once over 25ft the contrast quickly goes black and useless.
I am sure lowrance was trying to get shadows to show like Birds but this resulted in some nasty contrast issues. Probably tweaked some frequency and power too which brought us interference. I have been a big fan of Lowrance sidescan but this is bad.
I musky fish and side imaging is a big deal in locating fish. The competition is making us look real bad and this doesnt help.

It may still be in your "trash" folder. Check, and if so, restore it.

For SS3D I believe the versions in order are:
V4
18.2-60.1.134
18.2-60.1.142
18.3-61.1.123
19.1-62.1.108
A pretty safe combo that works is running 18.3-61.1.123 on both Carbon & SS3D. It's my preference at present and no real issues I've encountered.
If anyone still needs 18.3 send me a PM and I'll reply with a dropbox link to download.

This is true! I reverted back and my 3D box locked up in factory mode! {from 19.1 to 18.3} Bull crap, it cost me 660 and they credited back 330 after they received my 3d box. I was outside my 2 year warranty so I they sold me one at discounted price.

I don't know- what is wrong- firmware in sonar or hardware in MG, but still can use it as need.
This update literally ruined structure Scan 3d’s side scan. Almost like they want people to switch to active imaging.
I didn’t roll back to anything 18.3 - 61.1.123 is where I stopped. Could it be better - maybe. Could it be worse - you know it. Does it have to be this way - nope. I had iPhone for years seldom if ever updated. Went to Samsung S9+ then to Samsung S10+. The day I get notified of update I install it. No problems thus far.
I think folks would understand a snafu every once in a while after all these things are complex. But every stinking update released creates more problems than it solves. If money were no object....
you might be on to something here. what point would people have to buy new if the old is working as good or better.
so bb45 I want to understand completely what you are saying. You had 19.1 on your ss3d box and you rolled it back to 18.3 and the box crashed!!! Do I understand this correctly? Has anyone else rolled back to 18.3 on their 3d box and been successful? thanks
