    Question Oil Pump Problem

    Help anyone?!

I'm not getting oil to pump up to the motor. I have a full tank of oil in the bilge, and have to keep refilling the reservoir on the motor. The pump switch is not working at that fill location either. Fuse somewhere? Check Valve? Bad motor somewhere? Pictures would help if anyone has been through this.

Start by NOT filing the tank in the boat by more 80%. Must leave an air space to pressurize the remote tank.

Sounds like the transfer pump that’s on the oil tank in the boat is bad. Should be easy to find one that’s been taken out with a lot of people swapping to SHO’s.

I tried using the switch when it was near minimum, no luck. How do I test this main tank motor? Or the switch?

You can make sure the pump on the tank is getting power when you activate the manual switch and if it’s getting power and not running or pumping it’s bad.

Sorry to be so lost, but how do I make sure it's getting power? Test with multimeter? It seems pretty sealed...

Yes you can check the wires going to it with a multi meter and make sure it’s getting power

You probably should try posting on the motor forum. You can get some great advice and help over there.
