Motor Monitor for 150 Merc Pro XS 4 Stroke

I’m looking at a new boat with a 150 Merc Pro XS 4 Stroke on it. I have HDS Lives that I’ll put on it. What are the options for monitoring the motor? Is there a connection through the NEMA network that I can connect to my Lives?

Thanks in in advance for any insight?

A level 1 or higher MercMonitor, or a Vessel View Link, are the Smartcraft to N2K gateway options.

You can also get the SmartCraft SC-1000 Tach or Tach and Speedo. Are you ordering the boat, and do you have optoins to spec the gauges, or does it come with an analog set from the MFG and you are stuck with that?

There is also a VesselView Mobile device that is around $200 that gives you all the engine access on your mobile (smartphone) device.

Suggest spending a little time at merc's web site on the gauges and controls section, or search YouTube for SmartCraft Gauges, VesselView Link, MercMonitor, VesselView, and VesselView mobile for a look at the various options in action.

All of these, except the VesselView Mobile, will require you to install a SmartCraft network in the boat. Don and Rhonda can help explain all that is required for that.

P.S. you are going to love the ProXS 150 Four Stroke...

There is also a "SMARTCRAFT Options" sticky in the "Mercury - 3 Liter & 3 Liter High Performance" section some good info in there.

I would not recommend the Gateway for this purpose.

The Vessel View LINK would be an excellent choice- see Rhonda's post (pinned at the top of the Forum), and she can send you an email that has LOTS of useful info regarding the various systems (as well as special BBC member pricing).
