When I had 14 inch Jack plate I was running 2inch p2p and was getting 67 mph at 5500 rpm.
Now with 8 inch backplate at 2 3/4 p2p only getting 62mph at 5200 rpms. Should I move up or down?

Heres the thing, we know nothing about the prop or the motor. In a perfect world you should be 70-72 at 5750 with a 25-26 tempest worked by croxton with a light load a heavy load you will need a 24-25 worked .A cupped prop will run higher than a prop with less cup.
