Drive thru margarita business doing VERY well.....

On a lighter note we had a drive thru margarita shop open up in the city I work in about before the Covid stuff started happening. They were already doing a strong business but right now they are killing it in a big way. The line will be 25-40 cars long at times in the afternoons now and stays that way. Some people say its a 45 minute wait to get through the line.....talk about good timing on their part I guess....

Iowa just opened up mixed drink and cocktails sales for carry-out. I'm pretty sure our local Mexican restaurant will be much busier.

There are a ton of memes here asking "If are good can we keep the take out alcohol clause when this crisis is over"....

The margarita shop is a year round business though.

Dean, maybe this could be our side gig now or our main gig if things don’t turn around.

When I was in college I went to a LSU football game and they had them down there as well. I didn't even know that was legal until then.

One of our busiest bar/ restaurants started a drink delivery. He is doing very well. Our son’s bar/grill is doing a very good business on carry outs. But, he has always done well with carry outs, especially for pizza and wings. I think he has close to 20 different flavors of wings. Customers are tipping 25%-50% to help employees.

Nope. Liquor stores are deemed essential in Texas and its up to the individual counties to set the level of restrictions if they so choose. I figure its no different than drive thru food. People are inside their cars and practicing proper social distancing.

Last I knew in TN you couldn't sell liquor by the drink unless you sold food also.

My apologies if my reply came out harsher than intended. I was just meaning its allowed here. Not sure of other states.

TX has also eased some of the normal restrictions around restaurants selling alcohol in that you can now buy pre-packaged liquor as well...like a 50ml of Tequila with your take out.

Yeah, they have a bunch in Louisiana. It’s legal if they hand you the straw and don’t put the straw through the lid.

There was once a House boater who had
2 commercial slushy machines on his front deck.
One for margaritas the other for dacharies.
Needless to say he always had lots of company.

Our restaurants are doing take out drinks during Covid. We've only ate out once in the last two weeks, but there were a bunch of drinks in styrofoam cups sitting on a table when I picked up my to go order.
