    25 Fury 4 drop to 24 fury 4

Hey guys right now I'm running a 25 fury 4 at 3 1/4" below pad and running 5500-5600 rpms at 67 mph. I tried raising it to 3" below pad and went to 5800 rpms @ 67.5mph. The hole shot is rather slow right now in the summer heat. should I drop to a 24p fury 4 and leave at 3 1/4" below pad since I have good lift at this height? Also at 3 1/4" the rooster tail is halfway up the motor at WOT. Thanks!

Bubba which motor and lower unit do you have? I am running very near 6000 rpm at 72 mph with a 24 f4 and I also run around 67 at 5600 but I have a 1.75:1 lower.

I either got a particularly stiff 24 or your 25 is slipping I think. I will say I am deeper than you are however I’m at 3 5/8 below.

I just think I cant turn the 25p at the height it needs to be to get the speed out of it. I think the 24P would be where I need to be. what does yours do in the winter time? do you have to change props?

Mine is good year round. I may leave a little on the table in the winter as I may be able to turn over 6000 in the winter but I’m a 67-68 kind of guy even when I’m in a hurry.

I've run a Fury 24 4 and a Fury 25 4 on my '06 198 Champion , 225 Standard Optimax, 10" JP 5750 limiter. The 24 4 I was running @ 2" below the pad @ 69mph and had to hold off the throttle as I could over rev it. I'm working with a 25 4 right now. It's on it's way back from M Croxton. The 25 4 @ 2" below the pad and right @ 5750 WOT could not hold the bow up, and was running 2mph slower than the 24 4. Had a bit of cup added to hold the bow up, will see what happens.

Bubba, I'd jack that up to 2-1/2" below the pad, and go up from there. I've run several 4 blades on my 198. Razor XL 4, SL4, Bravo XS, TXP OT4, Fury 4, they all run from 2-1/2 to 1-3/4 below the pad on my set up. BUT my limiter is 5750, I can't turn high running props to 6000-63000rpm.

Ed I had it at 2 1/2 below pad and could turn it up to almost 5900 rpm but the speed was only 67 mph. Also at that height it just wouldn't pick up the bow of the boat. when I dropped it down to where it is now it lifts great but just need more rpms. I feel that the 24p will give me better slip numbers and will out perform the 25 I have.

that 294 is a speed demon! They were always fast. My 225 pro xs just don't have the power to push the big 201 pro xl to those speed loaded

So the fury 4 on my 294 is the best all around Prop I’ve ever ran. I haven’t done any jackplate adjustments since bolting it on but it’s only 1-2 mph slower than my blueprinted txp 3. Its atleast 2 mph faster than the fury 3, tempest and razor. Hole shot is quick and pulls hard mid range. I have 4 group 31 batteries (fortrex), 2 chargers, 300lb of man and a tackle shop and ran 71.6 first run. Ton of lift and feel I can come up on the plate quite a bit. Great Prop.

What pitch did you go with? Pro XS? Sounds like you got it dialed in. Your performance is very similar to mine. I have 3 batteries.

Mine is a 26 and I’m running close to 5600 but probably a little shy...could probably get away with a 25 pitch.

My 25 pitch Fury 4 was a dog out of the hole on my heavy Ranger...very disappointed. I'm gonna go with a 24 soon....I honestly might just stick to the 24 Trophy I have. Glad yours is working.

I’ve ran alot of props and the fury4 25p is the best prop I’ve ever ran on my rig. My ptp is at 2.5 and im spooling up at 3800 rpm’s coming out of the hole. As far as the ranger 520 goes the fury4 is a way better prop than a trophy and it will powerload a freight train on your trailer. If you still have that fury4 i would play with the jack plate With no plugs in the prop and if you think it’s still a dog out of the home why don’t you send it to Mark Croxton to have an extra set a holes drilled
