    Question Hydraulic steering line location

I am upgrading my steering to a Uflex Protech system. Would running the lines out through the clamshells to the steering cylinder, as the steering cables exited before (see picture), be too much distance for the much more flexible hydraulic lines? Or should I run them out of the splash well and try to come up with something to cover up the steering cable holes. The boat is in excellent condition, so aesthetics is a concern.

Sorry so late, my 207 did not have the clam shells ...I just ran mine thru the rigging hole but not in the sleeve, so they would be independent and to allow for the loop to be in the hoses. I think you would be better served leaving the clamshells, unless you come up with something innovated that pleases you. Sharp looking rig.

Sorry for being so late..... I think the flexibility of the hoses over that distance would be a problem. My 207 did not have the clamshells and the steering cables came thru the rigging hole. I routed the hoses thru the rigging hole so they could move on their own with the loop at the fitting of the hyd cylinder.
