^^This^^ They don't seem to have our market in mind so much as the big offshore boats. That is where the money is these days. Not that I am a buyer if there is, just saying this has been the trend with Mother Mercury the last 15-20 years.

I think i would cater to the guy buying 4 motors more than the guy buying 1. Maybe the v6 will kick up to 250 and the v8 will be 250 and rev higher.

If they offer a 250 V6 @475 lbs with 7200 rpms AND a 250 V8 @500+ lbs and 6,000 rpms it would be a tough decision. Are they going to make us think this hard?

If they offer that setup and anything like a sporty or conversion, I'd be looking to sell a brand new 300XS Racing engine.

The V-8 would have considerably more displacement = more torque. The max HP on either would be limited to 250 + tolerance, but the low end and mid-range power will go to the V-8 in a big way.

Its already come out, kind of. I've seen a pic of the new 250 Pro XS and its the V8. No news but I would guess it is going to be heavier than the 2 stroke. It is going to be offered from 250 to ? horsepower, maybe 450.

If it is based on the 3.4L V6 and is a modular engine it will be 50-70lbs more then the V6 which is 475Lbs. Rumor is 550lbs. IMO it may require lithium's for this application.

The 250 Pro XS 4 Stroke V8 only weighs 5 pounds more than the 2 Stroke Pro XS from my understanding.

So in the video there is a 300 ProXS and a 300R from the racing division. Wonder what this means?

From the writing on the back of the 250R and 300R, it looks like those still say "verado." I would guess the 300 pro xs is going to be just like the pro xs engines are now. Pro xs will be the same block as the stock engine, but come with solid motor mounts and more RPM's. We shall see, can't wait to see finalized weight specs. Really wish they would put some boost on the 3.4.

Actually it looks to be the same weigh as the Pro XS 2 Stroke at 505 pounds.
