Any reason why I shouldn't use this battery as Cranking Battery for SHO

Yall see any issues with running this battery as my cranking battery for 225hp SHO? Would be running motor, lights, livewells, power poles, and one 9" console graph. Never owned an AGM battery before but gotta be better than what's in there now which is a Deka marine master 24M7. Thanks

It's much better than what you have, But this one is much better with more reserve capacity of 265 min

I agree 100% but I can get a deal on the one I listed but honestly don't know alot about batteries that aren't standard lead acid starting batteries.

CCA is cold cranking amps and rated at 0°. We don’t use our boats in these temperatures. MCA is marine cranking amps rated at 32°. I think your motor needs around 600 marine cranking amps minimum. So anything over that is good. Reserve capacity is how many minutes the battery will last at 25 A draw. The more, the better! When you’re running everything In your boat off of this battery, the more reserve capacity the better. An AGM battery is better than lead acid.

Mercury (like Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki) want what will result in the least amount of problems for the company.

Look in your manual for battery specs... The SHO might require more than my motor. I recently heard that they need 220 min RC min...

I would not buy that Autozone AGM. It is made by Clarios/Interstate and has a very poor reputation here on BBC. There are better AGM batteries around for the money.

    Interesting.

Early VF200/VF225/VF250's did. Require 220 minutes RC min.

Later ones did not. Only required 160 minutes RC.

    Go figure.
