    Versatile rod help

    Winter has me bored and thinking of my gear way more than I should. I am probably asking for the best of too many worlds but.....I am looking for a rod that can handle 1/2 ounce to 3 ounces that is sensitive for jigs but can be used for froggin'. One more thing I would like to throw the occasional swim bait on it. I do not throw swimbaits enough to have a dedicated setup for it. Hence the 3 ounce range. Currently I see the Megabass P5 Tequila Baccarac but the regular taper and the weight range (3/4 oz - 4 oz) has me concerned. Anyone know if such a rod exists? JDM perhaps?

    The Megabass P5 Tequila Baccarac is the rod you're looking for. I've been fishing it since it came out and have thrown everything from punch rigs, glide baits, Big Gabot frogs, umbrella rigs, mag deep cranks, and on and on... it is a very unique, spectacular rod.

    Thanks Gary. Will it handle 1/2 ounce okay? Thats usually the weight of frogs that I use.

    You're welcome! I fished the Swamp Donkey which is 1/2 oz. on the TB in some pretty heavy slop and it did fine for me. I had the TB paired up with a current Zillion HD which was able to get good distance. I know it walks the Big Gabot nicely too... that's just a bigger frog that walks very easily.

    That's a good question. The demand for P5's is intense and the supply is extremely limited. All models that are out of stock, including the TB, are available for pre-order and will ship in order first come first served once they come back in stock. We hope to see a few more trickle in sometime around April, but what comes in will probably all be pre-sold before they come in...

    I ordered one back in Dec after watching the video from Hookup Tackle on the P5's and good to see you verify why I bought it - glide baits, a-rigs and 10XDs.

    I'm hoping I'll see my TB and my Dark Sleeper before the summer.
