It "will work" but will the update erase the overlay?

basscfo - appreciate you working with Navionics on resolving this issue. I bit of a pain I'm sure, but cool you're both working to get it resolved. No product is perfect, but I'm happy to see them always working to put out a better product for their customers. Tight lines man, let me know if there's anyway I can be of help.

Stand by on the card issue. I have been working on this for a LOT of months and have info today that the issues are found and a gameplan is in process. So far an update will NOT repair the issue so standby until we know how the repair or replace will be handled. The good news is that the issues have been found with some missing files, and as always, I expect Navionics to quickly move to support the necessary processes to remedy it. This should move quickly to resolution. SO, good news in the works to solve the problem.

Hi Fishin...yes absolutely. I think we are close to getting everyone taken care of on this. BUT, advice today is if anyone has NOT updated their card since October 19th..Stand down on it, do not update.
This has been a weird one for sure and difficult since it is so intermittent. Thankfully I am told this morning that the issue is known and in process as I mentioned.
Good news for sure...I will keep the group informed as I hear with info and resolutions for our customers.

Thanks Andre, I know the pic I sent to you was weird to say the least. Looks like the tech team is on the hunt!! Apparently file gremlins were prior to Oct 19th but the point is that updating a card to try to fix it will not work. I am sure further info and instructions are coming soon..Good news on Navionics finding it and starting the process in resolving it for everyone!

If the new card will not function properly including making "unlimited updates," and retaining all functionality after the update process, then they have not fixed anything. That will be the real test. Unless the card comes with instructions to do otherwise, I am going to 1) insert the new card, use it and make sure all features are working prior to update, and 2) I am going to update the card immediately and make sure it retains all those features. If it doesn't, New case # and the odyessy will continue. Also, as part of their communication to me during this process, which is limited to need to know at best, they have never indicated that you could fix the issue with a software update or download to the chip. That maybe where they are trying to go but that is not what they are doing here. Not sure where this notion has come from but they are fixing mine by replacing with a new chip that they say "works." I am counting on it and will know for sure in a few days.

    basscfo,

FWIW, Navionics replaced my platinum card last May as it had lost shading ability on TB and SR. The replacement card worked fine until I updated, then it acted exactly like the one I had previously sent in. I have been providing screenshots to Tommy on this (probably some others as well) as he was trying to sort with Navionics. My read of Tommy's note is that he is simply providing us with a heads up that the culprit has been identified, but the fix has not been identified. Be interested to see if your replacement card acts the same.

How do you see when a lake was last updated?

I just updated my lowrance HDS 7 gen 2 touch, and hds8 gen 2 to the latest versions from the lowrance website. After the update I can not get my navionics card to load any maps at all. It gives me the option to switch to navionics maps and when I do it seems to act like its booting up the chip but then the lake maps are gone. I can see all my waypoints where the lake should be but no map of the lake. The navionics card worked before updating the units. The card was bought in 2011. Does the older navionics card not work with the newer lowrance updates??? Please Help!!

I'm sure this question has been asked several times but I have a Lowrance Gen 3 unit and I'm wondering which Navionics card has the best information and detail for Texas.
    Thanks
