    Cool Weird tournament superstitions

A few years ago when I fished lots of club and open tournaments I got in the habit of always wearing new socks on tournament day. I was wondering what weird tournament superstitions that you all have developed???

When I get gas before a tournament I'll stop the total price on what weight I want to have

So like instead of an even $20 Ill let it run over to 22.32 or something like that.

This is embarrassingly silly, but back in 92 I won a tournament with a 20 + lb bag, which was a huge bag back then. After the weighin, I noticed a quarter on the floor near the console, I called it my lucky quarter.
I have owned three different boats since then but the quarter has made the transition on each one. Doesn’t work though.

Years ago I got nicked by a hook or a fish barb and was bleeding. Weighed in a big sack that day. So I always say, bleeding is good for a big bag. My co-anglers look at me like I am crazy.

No bananas. I used to be the same on the 'don't catch a fish on the first cast', but I won a TBF State Championship after catching a keeper on the first cast. I don't like to wear a tournament jersey fishing on tournament day. I carry it with me and put it on before the weigh in. Never had much success wearing during the day.

    No underwear!

If professionals who's careers depend on catching fish use FFS then that's what I'm using. Might be too simple of a philosophy but makes sense to me.

No new hats on tournament day. Used to lay out 3-5 hats & close eyes & go with the one I felt the most energy coming from. Now just put keys, wallet, watch & fingernail (line) clippers in a hat the night before so I don't forget them !
