    Question Hydraulic steering line location

I am upgrading my steering to a Uflex Protech system. Would running the lines out through the clamshells to the steering cylinder, as the steering cables exited before (see picture), be too much distance for the much more flexible hydraulic lines? Or should I run them out of the splash well and try to come up with something to cover up the steering cable holes. The boat is in excellent condition, so aesthetics is a concern.

I would run them out through the splash well, will look a lot nicer since you will have some slack in them that will be in the spash well anyway.

Splashwell, as they'll need to be some slack (loop) for them to move with the cylinder.

K&K customs has some nice bulkheads I used for my Power poles hydraulic lines. Don't know if they have different sizes to fit other hoses

Splashwell. Easy enough to cover the old holes.

Any ideas on covering the holes? Should I plug them off and put the clamshells back over them? Not too many fiberglass shops around here.

That is what I would do.
