Need Help bow led

Picked up a boat and the original person installed red and green strip lights on the bow. They work on switch and just noticed when I plug in battery charger the red bow side light is very faint and green has three faint lights lit. When I unplug battery charger the lights go off. They do work when I turn switch on as they should.
Not sure what is going on. Have tournament sunday and need to figure this out. Any help much appreciated.

A bit of stray voltage as it does not take hardly anything to light a LED. Check grounding. Cj

Sounds like a loose or corroded ground wire. Check all the ground connections for cleanliness and tightness.
